Fortnite Winter Island Design Contest Rules
Eligibility:

The contest is open to middle school and high school students from OSEA member schools only.

Participants may work individually or in teams of up to 5 people.
Contest Details:

Design a unique, winter-themed Fortnite island experience using UEFN or Fortnite Creative.

Publish your island as a private island and submit the private island code through the OSEA website.
Judging Criteria:

Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
-
Creativity and Theme: How well does the island capture a winter theme in unique and interesting ways?

Environmental Design: The quality of terrain, buildings, objects, and overall layout.

Gameplay Mechanics: Are the mechanics engaging and fun for players?
-
Storytelling: Does the island tell a cohesive story or narrative related to the winter theme? (Optional but beneficial.)

Technical Skill: How well are UEFN or Fortnite Creative tools used?

Polish and Functionality: Is the island free from bugs or glitches, and does everything function smoothly?

Prizes:

1st Place: $200 gift card.

2nd Place: $100 gift card.

3rd Place: $50 gift card.
Submission Deadline:

The contest opens on November 1st and closes on December 21st at 11:59 PM EST.

The winner will be contacted by January 10th, 2025, with the public winner announcement also on January 10th, 2025.
Island Requirements:

Islands must stay within the standard Fortnite Creative/UEFN map size.

Only assets available within UEFN or Fortnite Creative are allowed (no external or modded assets).

The island must have a clear winter theme.

Islands must be fully playable and free from major glitches or bugs (e.g., working spawn points, objectives, and game mechanics).

Islands should support 4-16 players for multiplayer gameplay.
