This school year, more than 600 students across 72 schools participated in OSEA events, with representation from 33 school districts, including public, Catholic, French, and private boards.OSEA not only provides structured leagues for esports titles such as Rocket League, League of Legends, Minecraft, Fortnite, Valorant, and Smash Bros., but also provides support to schools and teachers getting started in scholastic esports.
“We’re excited to welcome back OSEA for a second year,” said St. Clair College Esports Director Shaun Byrne. “OSEA has been outstanding with the development of scholastic esports in the province. We are proud to continue supporting their efforts and providing an in-person competitive experience for their high school esports teams.”
“It was a crucial part of the overall vision, providing students with the resources necessary to hone their skills and become professionals in the esports industry. Through the championship, they will not only gain valuable hands-on experience, but also showcase the skills and knowledge they have acquired,” added Byrne.
